heartbroken, bad news

Before rolling out of bed this morning I checked my email and recieved one from Michelle Marble, we were just emailing last night about chip-ins for Bogdan and this morning it was much different....different in a terrible way.
We all know that these children are not safe or belong to a family until well, they get off the airplane in the US right? But, it just isnt supposed to happen. I am at a loss for words at the moment and need more details but here is the email from Michelle she said I could share this though. Let's get the word out and find a way to make things change.

Hi April,
I don't know how to say this...but I wanted to let you and your family know that this morning I received an email from the adoption agency that works in Bogdan's area. They said that his parents are visiting him and he is not avaliable for international adoption. :( I have emailed back and forth with the agency woman and she is sure Bogdan is the one they are talking about.

Here are some of the clipings Michelle sent that went on btw she and the lady from the agency:

Michelle,

A made a long day trip to A..... on Friday which is where the baby is residing. I recieved news from her this morning that this child's birth parents have been visiting him so unfortunately he is not avaliable for international adoption. I'm so sorry to dissapoint you.

Michelle asked what all of this means, the reply:
I believe they are now visiting him regularly but as long as he gets visits once ayear, and dont sign a relinquishment, he can't be adopted.

Michelle asked if there is a way to get info to the parents that someone would like to adopt him...
no Russia does not allow that :(

It's a complicated story about a new local regulation for kids with special needs in this area of the region. The parents have signed a irrevocable custody agreement with the state.
It is sad b/c it guarantees Bogdan's care for life while they continue to visit him. He will NEVER be avaliable for international adoption. This is regulated specific to this area. It does not apply to the whole region.

Oh how my heart breaks for so many reasons. I must go for now, had to run home for my lunch break to get this posted. I will give more information as time permits. For now pray for our lovie Bogdan (could they have the wrong child?) Especially pray for the Marble's as they decide the next step and deal with the news they will not be able to rescue B.

{{hugs}}

weekend collage to wrap it up

Ahh, the week off for Mardi Gras has been wonderful and much needed for me as well as the girls. Tomorrow will be a huge slap in the face waking up early and getting into the school groove again, but I have to remember one full week and the next week we will have off Friday for the end of the nine weeks. Sorry, but that is how I get through it...it's just how I roll. This weekend has ended with a bang, well yesterday did at least.

Friday night we made our trip to Baton Rouge to watch LSU gymnastics with a few friends. Of course we didn't get home until midnight (thankfully John kept William home) and we had to be up bright and early for a skating party for William's friend.

The party was such fun and William took off on the skates. Now he has done inline skates and has a good time but the little stinker didn't even need help. I stuck his skates on and he was gone....as in I did not even go on the floor with him, he never looked back. He was awesome! I must say he did much better than some of the older kids who landed on the floor just about every time they moved a foot.

As soon as the skating party was over we went to party #2.

My nieces' nephew (are you following that one, lol?) turned one. Happy birthday baby Ty! What a doll. Just when I thought we were going home John called and we decided to go on a little date out to eat so my parents took the kids so we could go.

Meghan (my oldest niece and Ty)

Phew! Today could have been so relaxing but anyone who knows me knows I don't know how to do that, so since John worked all day today I decided it would be the perfect time to paint the kids playhouse in the back yard. It took about five hours and the girls were a great help with William and with painting. Thank you my sweet girls. Seriously, are these little feet not the cutest? I don't think my guy's foot will ever grow, he is still in an 8! The same size shoe for the pat year and a half!

Meet Bogdan's new family!

I am so excited to introduce Bogdan's family!

Did I just type that? I still feel like I need to be pinched, isn't our God so amazing?

Last night while at the LSU gym meet I got an email from B's mommy, Michelle giving the the go ahead to introduce them to you all. I'm not lying I could have gone home and started blogging but since we didnt get in until midnight I wanted to get it up this morning before starting our day.

I know there are so many of you out there who have been blogging, fb, sharing, donating and praying for this little guy, y'all simply rock. Please take a minute to stop by Child of my Heart to show Michelle and her family some love.

A little funny:

In Michelle's email she said that one of her children wanted to "buy" Bogdan. I really got a kick out of that b/c you would not believe how many time Brooke has asked, "Can we just buy him?"

So what are you waiting for? Get over there and say hello and check out their family blog too at Skipping Stones.

mardi gras 2012

Mardi Gras 2012 is officially over...
and so we say goodbye to the beads...

parades.... and king cakes.... I really meant it we are saying goodbye to the beads, does anyone want some more this year? Your time is limited b/c I've been spring cleaning this week as the kids have been off of school all week so let me know as soon as you can with your address :).

I'm so happy to see the Henry kiddos are still enjoying their beads from last year. Jackie, I'm getting your sent to you shortly and thanks again for the sweet pict of your handsome two.

mardi gras at school...the real thing coming soon...

Our school has a parade the last day before Mardi Gras break begins each year the different grades take turns throwing and catching. This year K-3 threw to the "big" kids, which meant William and Brooke brought beads to throw (woo hoo another way to get rid of beads caught the weekend prior) William throwing beads with all of his might as he saw my dad and I standing watching him....so cute to watch!

Across from us were Ragan and her friends who have known William since he was born and love him like his second sets of big sisters :) (don't they look so proud of him?...love this picture)
Brooke and her sidekick walk side by side during the parade.

sharing sunday...graves

Over the past year I have meet a wonderful lady, her name is Jane and she has a precious little family and such an amazing heart for orphans and helping other...most importantly she has a heart for our God.
This past week Jane has traveled to orphanage 50, a remote institution where "her" Bobby lives. She will hold and love on Bobby and many of the other children in this horrid living condition, she will pray over them, sing, read and more than likely shed many tears for them. You can read more about Jane and her trip and some of thing awesome things she is doing HERE or HERE .
She needs a little help financially for the children in the institution to be able to play music and bring some happiness to their sweet souls so if you feel led please do so but if not I ask you keep her in your prayers, I am eager to how she gets through to those at the instiution.
Bobby...

I am asking you all to share about orphanage 50. I believe it is quite difficult to find out much information but one thing I can tell you that should stick with most is that these perfect children will die soon. They do not live the life any child should have to. This is where they will be buried in these shallow graves near the institution.....

this sickens me....

it should you too.

As most of you know "my" Bogdan is on the MFFM page as of Valentine's Day and I am thanking God every day. I seriously check daily to make sure that is where he stays. Don't forget about little Benji, he just turned 2 in January and I know his Mommie and Daddy are out there.
