simple DIY valentine's day banner

I had no intentions on making any more Valentine's Day decor but Friday night as the rain came down and the kids ran around, had make overs and giggled with their friends I got the urge to make "one more" thing.

I honestly did not know what I wanted to do so I aimlessly look around for goodies a couple of minutes. I found an old red sweatshirt which no longer fitted my girls....it happened to be red! Ah, perfect for the beloved day. I made a simple heart template and began cutting out hearts.
I gathered a few odds and ends and ended up with collection of buttons, rick rack, ribbons, velour sticks, silver jewels and a number of other items. I sat and put a few things together and this is the little pop of color I have added to my mantle.
